Give Me A Break!
This is all rhetoric and no substance. You can not begin to affect change until there are term limits in congress! The job should be a privilege not a lifelong payed excursion. There have to be limits on contributions from special interest groups and lobbyist influence. It's not enough to claim you have not taken their money. Why has Obama not led the charge by introducing legislature to start the process? Because then he wouldn't be part of the club. Neither would anyone who tried. Anybody else wondering why Obama proclaims he's for change, change, change, then seeks and accepts endorsements from the likes of Ted Kennedy. How long has he been sitting in that seat, about 40 yrs.? If Obama really intended to shake up Washington, Ted would be hiding under his desk! And so would a lot of them. It's a blatant contradiction! What did he have to sell out on? What deals were made? What can he change without playing their game? How can he tackle the deficit and help the people in need at the same time? You can't, unless....... that's right, you raise taxes. Some of the same people who benefited from the Bush administration though, the upper income, well to do, so called educated (does not mean they acquired common sense) people, are following the Pied Piper chanting for change. Why? Go figure. Because they're afraid Hillary would be too effective. As for the lower income folks; do you think he can make you smarter, richer, and healthier before the crap hits the fan? Obama is a second term senator who does not have the same influence in congress as Clinton. He will not enjoy the same level of cooperation. He has not played the game long enough. They will dictate to him. Hence, the same old politics. Which explains the Kennedy endorsement. Obama may very well end up being the subject of the finger pointing when he can't clean up the Bush mess. If he honestly buys into his own rhetoric, he truly is naive. If he doesn't, well it's the same old, same old! I should admit my impression of him is that he is intelligent, well spoken, and charming at times. But, he also strikes me as a smooth talking salesman with a cure all elixir. "Take some of this here Obama, it'll fix all your ailments." His plan for health care is to make it affordable for all. How? Ask everyone to please charge us less, please stop raping us? Never happen! We need a national health care system that limits costs to the insured and dictates limits on charges if providers want to be part of the network. If not, they are free to operate on the open market. This terrifies the powerful special interest groups. Hillary started her quest for health care when her and Bill first got to Washington, but they were newcomers who had not played the game long enough. Ring a bell? She did not have enough influence in congress. They told her to take her ball, go home and bake some cookies. They wouldn't play. Could be different now though! I understand the pride of the black community in wanting to push Obama to the top, but if you really stop and consider the forces behind the curtain, some may open their eyes and set skin color aside. After all, Bill and Hillary have been in their corner. Where's the loyalty? There is a reason why some of the entrenched politicians are backing Obama. They don't want change! Think about it. Even if he is pure at heart, we will get more of the same old politics. They won't play! This country is more than ready for a Woman or an African American president. But, it's my opinion, Obama is not ready. He should be on the ticket as V.P., they would be a butt kicking duo. Then we can believe in change! I truly believe Republicans are more afraid of Hillary Clintons' ability to bring sweeping change than facing Obama in the general election. Republicans would rather lose and blame him in 4 yrs. To that extent, people like Sean Hannity are obsessed with bad mouthing Hillary.
